About Us
Founded in March 2012, Decoholic aims to make the world a more beautiful place by making handcrafted furniture from around the world affordable to everyone. Our simple mission: to bring our customers the furniture they crave, efficiently, affordably and intelligently.
Decoholic is a fast-growing but still-very-personable small company. We're obsessively focused on delivering value to our customers.
Our concept is Smart Selling. We cherry pick the most sought-after furniture, then offer one beautiful design at a time in limited batches, so our products constantly change. It allows us to be super efficient when manufacturing, marketing, shipping and delivering so we can pass these savings onto you, our valued customers.
We've successfully delivered over 2,000 orders in our first year of business and we're gathering rave reviews.
We are trying to build a company we’d like to do business with ourselves. We aim to WOW you through our service, and be a company that’s human, respectful, transparent and inclusive.
We're proud to introduce our team.
Brian Harrison - Co-founder, London
Brian has an impressive career background with previous roles as Global CEO of the UK's number one directory enquiry service and Digital Director of a popular broadsheet newspaper. Brian is the man with a plan, hell bent on revolutionising the furniture market. With a focus on the economics critical to Decoholic's concept, his brilliant mind does the number crunching that would make a Google algorithm blush! Brian's big business calibre is driving us unwaveringly forward. With an equal love of spreadsheets and practical jokes he keeps us organised and happy at the same time!
Interests: Striking deals, revolutionising the furniture business, owning a Brompton (fold up bike to the uninitiated) but never riding it, polishing his extensive collection of brown boots.
Debbie Williamson - Co-founder, London
Debbie is the visionary behind Decoholic with boundless creativity and enthusiasm. Debbie is bordering militant with regards to the quality of Decoholic products and giving every customer the best possible experience. Passionate about furniture and interior design, Decoholic was a natural concept and an embodiment of what is important to her in terms of business, furniture and service. Getting Debbie to take a break is in itself a challenge but we do our best!
Interests: Making customers really really happy, interior design, travel photography, hats.
Luis Mulet - Customer Experience Dream-maker, London
We are thrilled to have Luis on our team, he has the critical role (no pressure Luis!) of brand ambassador charged with being our main contact with you our beloved customers! Early starts and late nights in the office attached to the life support umbilical cord of his telephone headset, he keeps you as happy as can be and we keep him happy feeding him praise and beer on Friday nights in the pub. And yes we know he spells his name funny but we love him!
Interests: Black & white films, Spanish cooking, learning water colour painting, chocolate digestives - don't get too close once the pack is open!
Marianne Fernandes - Marketing & Partnership Go-getter, London
Marianne is the girl with a smile who attends countless meetings spreading the good work of Decoholic to existing and new media partners to get word and our offers out to you our dear customers. Blazing a trail through media from newspapers and magazines to websites with matching ethics to ours, Marianne is a master at giving Brian all the credit for our partnerships and pretending he does all the work.
Interests: Hoxton restaurants, advising graduates on acceptable protocol for first time social events at work, eating muffins, clay pigeon shooting.
Antanas Perez - Analytical Genius, London
The Colombian iceman Antanas is our quiet team professor. He takes a world of incomprehensible data and puts it through all manner of complicated processes until it makes sense. We don't know exactly what he does but we do know it's jolly complicated and very important to us working out the latest furniture trends.
Outclassing his computer on a daily basis he keeps his cool by doing a open handed 'why' gesture while suppressing a silent scream when it crashes. Since joining we have introduced him to his first taste of Monster Munch (his verdict - "tastes unhealthy") and digestive biscuits (he rather liked those).
Interests: Playing football (and injuring himself), story-telling, cycling (a fixed wheel bike - crazy!) and creating and organising things. Oh, and digestive biscuits.
Caroline Weller - Quality Guardian, Rajasthan, India
Caroline is English, originally from Tunbridge Wells. Having lived in New York for 15 years designing clothes, jewellery and homeware accessories, she is glamourous and lovely and the perfect choice for us as she is even more picky than Debbie! Four years ago, Caroline relocated her family to India after falling in love with the country while working out there for a year as a textile designer early in her career. Entrusted with checking every single item before packing and shipping, Caroline also advises us on fabric and colour development on all our products.
Interests: Being glamorous, checking every little detail of products before they leave her care, India, taking baths, opera.
Neil Davenport - Photographer, Rajasthan, India
An esteemed career in fashion photography with the proud accolade of being the first to shoot none other than Kate Moss. Based in India building sets, climbing bamboo scaffolding and taking photographs, Neil risks his life daily in showing you just how beautiful your furniture is to help you picture it in your own home.
Interests: Photography, Caroline, India, not falling off bamboo scaffolding.
Richard Grosse - Shipping Guru, Grimsby
Our very own gentle giant from Grimsby. After the skill and care of our artisans producing your handmade furniture and Caroline's rigorous quality checks, we'd be lost without our own shipping demigod to make sure the transport of your purchases is handled with the same care and attention to the rest of our business. He has held our hand, taught us so much and lives and breathes shipping.
Interests: Shipping, shipping, manicures, waving your furniture goodbye, tea and shipping.
